iKON “No. 1 For 9 Consecutive Days, We Didn’t Know It Would Be This Big…Thank You”

 YG's Boy Group iKON is continuing their rise by maintaining their no. 1 spot for 9 consecutive days in music charts.

As of February 2, 10 AM, iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is maintaining its top spot in charts from 5 major music platforms, including Melon, Mnet, Genie, Olleh, and Monkey 3.

The only explanation for iKON’s success is the ‘power of good music’. Nobody expected that iKON would perform so well with their 2nd album being released in 2 years, since iKON have been focusing on activities in foreign markets.

iKON’s 2nd official album sounds like iKON have been polishing themselves during their break. The no. 1 spot feels more meaningful and impressive, since leader B.I participated in the writing and composing of all 12 tracks in the album, displaying his skills and abilities as a producer.

Although they were not active in Korea, they have tried hard to evolve and as a result, their growth in musicality was contained in the album.

It is also noticeable that other tracks besides ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ from iKON’s 2nd official album are listed in the TOP 100 as well on Melon, which is Korea’s largest music streaming platform.

Furthermore, iKON won the first-place trophy on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’. It was their first no. 1 in music broadcasts since making their comeback, and noticed that more will be coming in the near future.

It is a moment where iKON and YANG HYUN SUK’s first intention of ‘focusing on activities in Korea’ is getting fruitful results.

iKON who made a guest appearance in MBC ‘Kangta’s Starry Night’ displayed humor and talking skills although it was their first appearance in a radio program since making their comeback.

On maintaining their no. 1 spot in major music charts, iKON modestly stated, “We didn’t know people would show this much support, and that the song will be successful this much. Thank you”.

iKON’s active promotion in Korea will continue. On February 2, iKON will make guest appearances in Choi Hwa Jung’s ‘Power Time’ on SBS Power FM and ‘Hongki’s Kiss the Radio’ on KBS Cool FM.
