iKON Scores Third Victory Thanks to Accurate Cantonese Pronunciation on Heroes of Remix

YG's group iKON took its third victory in China’s popular competition program The Remix.

On the fifth episode of The Remix aired on July 24, iKON took its third victory following their win on the first and their episode.

The Remix is a show in which participants compete with newly arranged versions of China’s popular songs and was much anticipated by people even before it aired.

On the fifth episode, iKON sang Jacky Cheung’s “Honey” and enthralled the audience with their spectacular LED dance performance.

PSY, who was the mentor of iKON, sent his support for iKON by saying, “Personally, this is the one that I look forward to the most out of all iKON’s performances in the show.”


After the show was aired, iKON became the third most searched word on Weibo, and the show recorded 0.869% in viewer ratings, putting it at the fourth place among variety shows aired on Sunday.

iKON’s performance received favorable comments online such as “iKON’s Cantonese pronunciation so accurate. You could really see they’ve put in a lot of work”, “The LED performance was phenomenal” and “Taking three wins out of five! Awesome!”

Meanwhile, The Remix is aired every Sunday at 8:30 PM on China’s JiangsuTV.
