iKON & BIGBANG Sweep China’s QQ Music Awards

BIGBANG and iKON dominate the music scene in China.

At the QQ Music Awards held on March 23 in China, BIGBANG and iKON each won four and two awards.

BIGBANG received awards for the Best Music Video, the Most Popular Foreign Group, and the Best-selling Foreign Digital Album. G-DRAGON was awarded the Most Influential Male Artist.
BIGBANG winning the Best-selling Foreign Digital Album award is even more meaningful given that China is a country where music streaming is usually free and BIGBANG’s MADE single albums were not sold for free.

BIGBANG became the star of the night by performing for the finale stage. For their song “LOSER”, BIGBANG put on a collaboration stage with the world-renowned pianist Lang Lang. On his Weibo page, Lang Lang commented, “BIGBANG was such a pro, and they were so nice. Today’s collaboration performance was the best.”

iKON won the New Artist and the Media Recommendations awards. For their acceptance speech, iKON’s leader B.I said, “Thank you for giving us this award. We will work harder and become a great group befitting this award.”

BIGBANG is currently on a fan meeting tour in China, and iKON is to go on a Asian tour and hold concerts in Taipei on April 22 and in Hong Kong on May 7.
