[Issue is] iKON’s Unusually Large Ticket Power... 10,000 seats sold out in 10 minutes

YG's boygroup iKON is a rookie but their ticket power does not match that of a rookie.

The ticket sale for iKON’s solo concert, which is titled iKONCERT 2016 SHOWTIME TOUR IN SEOUL, began at 8 PM on January 7, and all the tickets for 10,000 seats were sold out in exactly 10 minutes. The same thing happened the day before.

No idol group has had such a large ticket power and held a concert in such a big venue. Not even a year has passed since iKON’s debut, but they have already held a debut showcase at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium. Their solo concert will also take place there.

Cho Yong-pil, PSY, god, and Sung Si-kyung held their end-of-the-year concerts at the same place last year. Only the singers that have huge ticket powers can hold concerts at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium. It is very rare for a rookie like iKON to hold their first solo concert at such a big stadium, but iKON has already had two concerts and sold 20,000 tickets in just 20 minutes.

Upon debut, iKON gained unusually huge popularity. They have topped all the charts with their debut single “MY TYPE” and won against seasoned singers and took the No.1 spot with “RHYTHM TA” and “APOLOGY”. Their recently released single “DUMB & DUMBER” is climbing up the charts rapidly and was pitted against PSY’s new song for the No.1 spot of Mnet’s M Countdown charts on January 7.

iKON’s huge popularity made iKON win awards. They won the rookie of the year awards at the 2015 Melon Music Awards and 2015 MAMA. They were also nominated for the rookie award at the Golden Disk Awards.

iKON’s solo concert iKONCERT 2016 SHOWTIME TOUR IN SEOUL will be held at 6 PM on January 30 and 31 at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium.
