On January 20, iKON and GFriend won the New Rising Star Award in Digital Music at the 30th Golden Disk Awards, which took place at Grand Peace Palace, Kyunghee University.
Jo Jung-suk presented the award and, after receiving, GFriend said, “Thank you to the CEO of our label, staff, and the fans. Thank you very much.”
For their acceptance speech, iKON said, “It’s a great honor. We will do our best to live up to the expectations. We would like to thank Mr. YANG HYUN SUK, the staff, and iKONIC.”
The 30th Golden Disk Awards is held on January 20-21. It represents the 30-year history of Korean pop and, this year’s award ceremony will feature a number of eye-catching performances. Top K-pop stars will perform at the ceremony, and the ceremony will be broadcasted live on Naver V App.
The performances of award winners are definitely something that you shouldn’t miss. All the popular singers of the previous year perform, making the audience go wild. This year, musicians that boast a wide fans base such as BIGBANG, SHINee, Beast, Bangtan Boys, f(x), Apink, Vixx, EXO, Girls’ Generation, CNBLUE, EXID, Red Velvet, and AOA will put on performances.
The presenters as top stars as the musicians. Top class actors such as Hwang Jeong-um, Jo Jung-suk, Kang Sora, Park Hye-jin as well as fashinistas such as Han Chae-young, Jang Yun-ju, Son Tae-young, Chae Jung-an attended the ceremony to celebrate the opening of the 30th Golden Disk Awards.
