iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ At No. 1 For 28 Days… A New Idol Record in 10 Years after BIGBANG

iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, released on January 25, is setting milestones by maintaining its no. 1 spot in real-time charts for 28 consecutive days. As of February 21, 3 PM, the song is placed at no. 1 in 7 different real-time charts, including Mnet, Genie, Soribada, Olleh, Naver, Monkey 3, and Melon, which is Korea’s largest music streaming platform.

Maintaining the no. 1 spot for 28 days is the best record among idol groups in the past 10 years. It’s the longest no. 1 march among both boy-groups and girl-groups, since BIGBANG’s ‘LAST FAREWELL’ released back in January 2008, which remained at no. 1 for 8 consecutive weeks.

Due to the characteristics of the music industry, it’s difficult for songs to last at no. 1 for even 1~2 weeks. However, ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is creating waves by remaining at no. 1 for 28 consecutive days. Although many groups and artists made comeback aiming for the no. 1 spot, iKON kept their top position with the power of music and its contents.

While setting a milestone with the group’s best record since debut, iKON successfully became the ‘best idol-group’ with the release of their new album.

‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is a mega-hit by iKON, that attracts listeners with lyrics that metaphorically state a lover’s farewell story as a melodrama scenario, along with sentimental and catchy melodies. The song surpassed the point of capturing the ears of iKON’s fandom, and successfully captured the ears of all listeners, regardless of gender and age.
