iKON #No. 1 For 30 Days #A New Record in 10 Years #Barbeque Get-Together

YG's Boy-group iKON is re-writing idol history of the past 10 years day by day.
The record for the past 10 years has already been renewed by iKON with their ‘No. 1 for 28 days’ record, while the group is continuing to re-write new records.

The title song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ from iKON’s 2nd official album ‘RETURN’ was placed at no. 1 in 6 different real-time charts including Melon, Mnet Music, Genie Chart, Olleh Music, Naver Music, and Soribada, as of February 23, 8 AM.

The song released on last month on the 25th is dominating music charts for a month, which is a historical long-run. iKON’s long-run in music charts happened before as well. They have previously earned their nickname ‘monster rookies’ with their debut single ‘MY TYPE’.
However, ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ surpassed the point of becoming a song approved by the public, and is currently re-writing records for iKON. Since their debut single was a huge success, people have been expecting more from iKON’s next step, while iKON successfully handled the pressure and established their position.

They have even passed the point of re-writing their own record, and is now renewing idol-group records. Two days ago, iKON renewed an idol group record for maintaining the longest period in music charts in the past 10 years by being placed at no. 1 for 28 consecutive days. The previous record holder was BIGBANG, with their song ‘LAST FAREWELL’ (No. 1 for 8 consecutive weeks).

Furthermore, they have tied with BIGBANG’s record by being placed at no. 1 in weekly charts for 3 consecutive weeks. BIGBANG was placed at no. 1 in weekly charts for 3 consecutive weeks with songs ‘LAST FAREWELL’ (2008) and ‘FXXK IT’ (2016). Since iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is accumulating 700,000 listeners in a period of 24 hours and is maintaining the no. 1 spot in Melon, which is Korea’s largest music streaming platform, the group is expected to renew this record as well.

iKON’s team spirit is higher than ever. They recently posted a photo from their barbeque get-together with YG Entertainment’s representative producer, YANG HYUN SUK. The members stated, “We didn’t do a get-together after winning no. 1 in a music broadcast”, and YANG HYUN SUK responded, “Let’s go for a barbeque on Thursday”.

Meanwhile, iKON won the triple crown in Gaon Charts for the 7th week of 2018. They topped Digital and Streaming Comprehensive Charts for 3 consecutive weeks, while they have maintained their top spot in the Mobile Chart for 2 consecutive weeks.
