Proving They are Indeed a Monster Rookie, iKON Wins the Artist of the Year for September from Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards

iKON won an Artist of the Year Award.

The fifth Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards was held at the Olympic Hall in Bangi-dong, Seoul on February 17.
The Artist of the Year for September went to iKON. They said, “Thank you for giving such a prestigious award to a rookie like us. We’d like to thank all the people who have helped us make ‘MY TYPE’. We’d also like to thank Mr. YANG HYUN SUK and Mr. YANG MIN SUK and our parents.”

The Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards is well into its fifth year. The award winners were chosen based on Gaon chart data from January to December 2015. It has 17 categories including Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Composer of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Mobile Vote Popularity, Performers of the Year, Kpop Contribution and New Media Platform Awards.
