iKON is different from other idol boy groups, from the very beginning.

According to iKON’s label YG Entertainment, more than five songs among 12 songs included in iKON’s full-length debut album to be released in November will be title tracks. It is an unprecedented debut plan for an idol group, adding to the already planned large-scale debut concert and the news that all the songs in the debut album are written by the members themselves.
There has been no group who made more than five songs in their debut album as title tracks. It is notable that 12 songs will be presented in the debut album, and the fact that more than five songs among the 12 will be title tracks is all the more surprising, as it proves how firm the musical talent and skills of the members are.
Furthermore, the 12 songs are all the more special as they are all written by the members themselves. Generally, an idol group’s debut album is filled with songs written by famous songwriters, to enhance the possibility of the album’s success. However, iKON fills their album with songs written by themselves, beginning their career as an artists and idol singer at the same time.
The team gained recognition from the public by competing in Mnet’s survival audition show “MIX & MATCH” in September last year. As iKON showed their musical talent in TV shows even before their debut, the team has already built substantial fandom.
Plus, iKON will also hold their debut concert “SHOWTIME” on the 3 next month at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall with 10,000 seats. It is a very exceptional case for a rookie idol group who has just debuted to hold a concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall, as only popular singers have usually held concert at the venue.
An YG insider further raised fans expectations for iKON, saying, “iKON has long been preparing for their debut. As they will present more than five title songs in their debut album, more than five music videos will also be produced. They have a lot to show in terms of their music”.
Meanwhile, iKON will begin their performance in earnest by unveiling a pre-release song on the 15 this month. Then, a half album will be released on October 1 and full-length album with all the 12 songs will be released on November 2.
