YG Entertainment spoke up on the future of Yang Hong Seok and Jung Jin Hyeong, who have been eliminated from Mix&Match.
During November 6’s broadcast of Mnet’s Mix&Match, YG named Kim Dong Hyuk as the final member of the 7-membered boy group, iKON.
With this, the iKON members have been confirmed as the six members of team B from WIN: Who Is Next, namely B.I, Bobby, Kim Jin Hwan, Song Yun Hyeong, Kim Dong Hyuk and Goo Jun Hoe, and Jung Chan Woo who has newly joined the team.
Though Jung Jin Hyeong caught attention with his superior visuals and charming voice and Yang Hong Seok who joined the show later on caught the fans’ hearts with his voice full of soul and charming looks, the two were ultimately eliminated.
Soon after the show aired, the fans have been expressing their sadness over Yang Hong Seok and Jung Jin Hyeong who failed in joining iKON. As they spent relatively short amount of time practicing compared to the members of iKON, interest has also been gathering on whether they will leave YG after Mix&Match.
About this, YG rep told Newsen on November 7, “Nothing has been decided on Yang Hong Seok and Jung Jin Hyeong’s future activities.”
Yang Hyun Suk had previously mentioned the eliminated members during Mix&Match press conference, which took place on September 2 in Conrad Seoul Hotel, Yeouido-dong.
When asked about the future of two members who will be eliminated, Yang Hyun Suk said, “I was worried that I would be asked this question. I actually don’t know. Even when Jang Hyun Seung failed to make it into Big Bang, he debuted as a member of B2ST so I cannot say for certain that the two eliminated members of this program will be debuting from YG.”
Meanwhile, iKON will be performing in the opening stage of Big Bang’s 5-dome tour launching on November 15 and 16 in Nagoya, as the guest performers. The exact debut date of the group has not been confirmed yet.
